About the role

We are looking for an independent Senior Accounting & Tax Specialist who will take part of responsibility for the accounting area and tax area of vidaXL’s logistics entities in Poland.
The role involves close cooperation with the centralized Group Finance Team and working in an international operational environment.

Your responsibilities

• Responsibility for maintaining accounting records of Polish entities in accordance with Polish accounting and tax regulations.
• Execution and coordination of accounting and tax processes in Poland, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of financial and tax settlements.
• Managing and reviewing accounting processes, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory, logistics and transportation costs.
• Preparation, review and submission of tax returns and tax-related filings, in particular VAT, CIT and other applicable Polish tax obligations.
• Monitoring changes in Polish tax and accounting legislation and assessing their impact on the company’s accounting and tax processes.
• Supporting the business in tax-related matters and providing practical guidance on the accounting and tax implications of business transactions.
• Preparation of tax calculations, reconciliations and supporting documentation, including VAT and CIT-related reconciliations.
• Cooperation with external tax advisors and auditors on tax and accounting matters, including providing required documentation and explanations.
• Supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation, responding to queries and clarification of accounting and tax matters.
• Performing day-to-day activities in the SAP system and supporting the improvement, standardization and automation of accounting and tax processes.
• Participation in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including tax-related closing activities and Group reporting.
• Cooperation with the Group Finance Team and international finance structures on accounting, tax and reporting matters.
• Cooperation with operational departments (logistics, warehouse, sales, HR) to ensure the correct accounting and tax treatment of business transactions and the quality and consistency of financial data.
• Identifying accounting and tax risks and supporting the implementation of appropriate controls and solutions.
• Participation in projects aimed at optimizing accounting and tax processes, improving financial systems and implementing new processes or regulatory requirements.
• Providing support and knowledge sharing to other members of the accounting team and acting as a backup within the accounting and tax area.

Our requirements

• 5–8+ years of professional experience in accounting and/or tax, preferably gained in a senior specialist role within an international corporate environment.
• Very good knowledge of Polish accounting and tax regulations, with practical experience in both areas.
• Solid experience in tax compliance, particularly VAT and CIT, including preparation and review of tax returns, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Fluent English (C1 level) – daily work in an international environment and cooperation with international Finance teams.
• Hands-on experience working with SAP is required.
• Experience in working with Group Finance / centralized or shared service structures will be highly valued.
• Ability to independently analyze accounting and tax matters, identify risks and propose practical solutions.
• High level of independence, ownership and responsibility, combined with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Very good organizational and communication skills, with the ability to cooperate effectively with both local and international stakeholders.
• Experience in internal and external audits and cooperation with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Experience in process improvement, standardization or automation within accounting and tax will be an advantage.
• Experience in logistics, distribution, e-commerce or other international corporate environments will be an advantage.
