As our Solution Architect

You are a technical visionary responsible for translating business objectives into conceptual and practical solutions that will be the foundation for our future product roadmap. You are an expert within the e-commerce ecosystem with a profound knowledge of technology developments, the solution vendors, and e-commerce business objectives in general.

What will you be doing

• Design the Solution architecture for the foreseeable future (2 to 4 years) that fits vidaXL as an organization and its strategic goals. Define strategic choice between buying and own build, and make tradeoffs between requirement, quality, stability, and implementation cost & speed.
• “Own” the complete e-commerce landscape (Pricing & BI, product content, channel integration, webshops (running on Salesforce CC), and customer service.
• Lead the design and development of the e-commerce platform, ensuring that it is scalable, secure, and performant.
• Work closely with the development teams to ensure that the various platforms within the domain are being built using best practices and adhere to (enterprise) architectural principles. Collaborate with Lead Product Owner  and Domain Architects and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements
• Drive technical, architectural, and functional discussions, challenging and guiding both business and developers to build solutions that fit our needs and achieve our long-term business objectives
• Define system integration architectures and work with partner system integrators and design patterns, approaches, and guidelines, adhering to compliance standards

Must-haves:

• 5 + years of experience as a Solution Architect. 8+ years of experience in developing e-commerce solutions and applications, and 5+ years of experience in any commercial e-commerce tool like SFCC, Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, etc.
• Proven hands-on implementation experience in large, complex, multi-domain, and multisite e-commerce projects.
• Strong communication skills and a high sense of ownership.
• Willingness to travel to China and India 
• Sound knowledge of cloud infrastructure in a popular platform, like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Architect certification in any e-commerce tool is desirable. Start-up company experience is a plus.
